One of the biggest challenges many people new to the keto diet face is getting enough healthy fats into their diet. One way to reach your daily macro goals for fat includes adding fat to their morning cup of coffee.

There are several options for adding healthy fats to your coffee more so than just the traditional splash of heavy cream.

When I started off trying keto, I learned to add either butter or ghee (which is clarified butter) to my coffee in order to get the required amount of added fat in my diet. I have also tried adding coconut oil and coconut butter and even coconut milk to my morning cup(s) of coffee. 

I also found using a small blender like the Magic Blender or NutriBullet helped quickly blend the butter, ghee or coconut oil.

Our Keto Coffee recipe is a tasty way to accomplish that goal and can be a great way to start your day.

KETO COFFEE RECIPE

INGREDIENTS

1 Cup of Coffee

1 Tbsp of Grass Fed Butter or Ghee

1 Tbsp of Coconut Oil

Dash of Cinnamon

DIRECTIONS

  1. Brew your coffee as you would normally do.
  2. Once your coffee is ready, add the coffee into a blender with the butter, coconut oil and the cinnamon.
  3. Blend for 5 seconds and that’s it.
  4. Serve immediately for a warm beverage or add ice cubes to make an iced coffee.
